Glazing installation
and troubleshooting support

Use these checks to organise the job and the evidence needed for support. Installation methods, fixings and adjustments must follow the supplied system instructions.

Before the fitting team arrives

Opening and interfaces

Reconcile approved sizes, handing, finished floor level and threshold or upstand details. Identify anything still awaiting a drawing or site decision.

People and equipment

Confirm delivery access, unloading responsibility, suitable handling equipment and the installation team’s plan for the actual units.

Product and paperwork

Check delivery labels against the schedule, inspect accessible items and locate the current system installation manual before work starts.

Record checks in your project →

When something needs attention

Door catches, drags or will not lock

Record the affected panel, when the problem started, opening dimensions and photos of the frame, threshold and gaps. Stop forcing the mechanism. Ask the system supplier or installer to diagnose before adjusting hardware.

Water at the threshold

Record weather conditions and where water first appears. Photograph drainage outlets and the external interface without dismantling them. Check the correct system drainage detail with the supplier; do not seal drainage paths.

Condensation or misting

Record whether moisture is on the room face, outside face or between panes, and when it occurs. Photos and room conditions help the supplier distinguish a glazing issue from an environmental one.

Roof glazing or upstand mismatch

Compare the order drawing and the recorded dimension basis with the actual opening and upstand. Stop installation if they differ and obtain an agreed drawing revision before proceeding.

Delivery damage or missing items

Photograph packaging and affected parts, retain labels and record the delivery reference. Follow the supplier’s agreed reporting procedure promptly; keep damaged glazing out of use.

Close out the job properly

Record each opening, the checks completed, photos, unresolved snags, responsible person and agreed next action. Hand over care instructions and the applicable warranty documents.
